I believe this is a case of focusing on the wrong body part. “Get weight off head into arms” is the thinking. But you need your body’s weight to stay over your head, just not ON your head . . Begin by pressing into the arms to relieve the weight off the head, but try not to shift your weight forwards or backwards. Gravity still pulls in the same direction! ⬇️ . . Once you have your head free, begin to open the shoulders as you straighten the elbows. Think “UP UP UP!!” like you’re trying to get your toes on the ceiling. SWIPE to watch the video . . It’s similar to headstand ➡️ crow and many other transitions. 👍 RULE OF THUMB for all balancing postures: your centre of gravity (hips area) must stay over your foundation (body parts that touch the floor). .
